09 maja, 2018

Z ponad 800 wystawcami i ponad 36 000 partnerami z branży, ta niezwykła mieszanka międzynarodowych firm stwarza niezrównaną okazję do obejrzenia szerokiego, a jednocześnie wysoko ukierunkowanego asortymentu najlepszych na świecie, najbardziej innowacyjnych i oryginalnych awangardowych produktów do domów, biur i hoteli.

Polish furniture conquers the world Furniture manufacture is a strongly growing industry in the Polish economy, with global importance and a large growth potential. Poland belongs not only to European but also global leaders in the production and export of furniture. In 2016, over 16 thousand furniture manufacturers were registered in Poland. This makes us the second largest market in the European Union. We outranked countries such as: Spain, Germany, France or the Netherlands. Currently, across the EU, approximately 120 thousand companies from this industry are registered. The value of the sold production of Polish furniture in the last year amounted to PLN 42.5 billion (an increase by PLN 3.4 billion compared to the previous year). Forecasts for the coming years are also optimistic. It is assumed that by 2020 the sold production will increase to almost PLN 50 billion. Furniture manufacturers are the second industry in terms of net export, immediately following manufacturers of parts and accessories for motor vehicles. Polish companies have a very wide range of products. They manufacture furniture intended for various segments of the market, both for the wealthy and the less prosperous.

Poland is among the world’s five largest exporters of furniture In 2016, Poland was fourth among the world’s largest furniture exporters. The first was China, which accounted for more than 37% of the world sales. The second and third places were occupied by Germany (7.2%) and Italy (5.6%), respectively. More than 90% of the domestic production is intended for export, with as much as 87% going to the European markets. In 2016, the value of export amounted to PLN 40.5 billion. Most furniture was sold by Polish manufacturers to Germany (36.2% of total export), United Kingdom (8%) and the Czech Republic (7%). Polish furniture manufacturers have customers also outside the European Union, in countries such as the USA, Russia, China. Furniture elements dominate among export products. In 2016, the value of export of this group of goods was estimated at EUR 2.7 million. Following this group is upholstered furniture (EUR 2.57 billion) and furniture for the living and dining rooms (EUR 1.8 billion). The furniture industry is one of the largest employers in Poland The entire furniture industry employs almost 180 thousand people, and large and medium furniture manufacturers create jobs for approximately 130 thousand people.

The Polish furniture sector is supported by the government The Polish Investment and Trade Agency implements a furniture industry promotion programme, whose aim is to promote the Polish economy, based on Polish product brands falling within the National Smart Specialisation areas.
