Polish Americans Donated $110,578 for Terminally Ill Children

PSFCU     09 stycznia, 2019

December 31, 2018 was the last day of the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union’s 5th annual ‘Children’s Holiday Smile’. Thanks to PSFCU Member donations, $110,578 was raised to make an enormous impact on the lives of the children in three different hospices in Poland as well as terminally ill ones in the United States.

The ‘Children’s Holiday Smile’ fundraiser was launched by PSFCU, along with New York’s Children’s Smile Foundation, the day after Thanksgiving.  Three Polish children’s hospices were the beneficiaries of this year’s fundraising drive: Hospice operated by Caritas of the Archdiocese of Warmia in Olsztyn ($36,547.68), which was recommended by Poland’s First Lady, Agata Kornhauser-Duda; Wroclaw Hospice for Children Foundation ($35,076.74); and Rev. Eugeniusz Dutkiewicz SAC Hospice in Gdansk ($22,616.41). An additional $16,336.95 was donated to the Children’s Smile Foundation to aid sick Polish-American children being treated in the United States.

Since its inception in 2014, the ‘Children’s Holiday Smile’ raised over $610,000.  To ensure that every donated dollar makes a difference, PSFCU delivers 100 percent of the donations directly to the hospices and the Children’s Smile Foundation.
