Evening with Michał Murawski at Columbia University in the City of New York

06 kwietnia, 2019

Murawski’s new book Palace Complex: A Stalinist Skyscraper, Capitalist Warsaw, and a City Transfixed, explores the massive Stalinist skyscraper originally “gifted” to Warsaw by the Soviet Union in 1955. Murawski traces the powerful impact the Palace of Culture and Science has had on the landscape of Poland’s capital city and the bodies and minds of its inhabitants, asking: how has it endured today?

The Polish Cultural Institute – NY invites you to an evening with Michał Murawski, an anthropologist of architecture who joins us from University College London.

Wednesday, April 10, 2019, 6:15pm
Marshall D. Shulman Seminar Room, 1219 International Affairs Building (420 W 118th St, New York)

Michal Murawski will present his book in conversation with Reinhold Martin, Professor of Architecture at the Graduate School of Planning and Preservation, and Malgorzata Mazurek, Associate Professor of Polish Studies.
